Protein timing is mostly noise. Here is what actually matters

The 30-minute anabolic window sold a lot of shakers. The research says your muscles are not checking a stopwatch.

What the evidence actually supports is boring: total daily protein matters enormously, timing matters barely. Hit roughly 0.7 grams per pound of body weight across the day and the post-workout scramble becomes optional.

Where timing does earn a mention: spreading protein across three or four meals beats cramming it into one, and eating something before training tends to make the session better. That is it. That is the timing science.

My clients who stopped stressing about the window and started stressing about groceries — buying enough protein to actually eat it daily — made more progress in three months than the shaker-watchers made in a year.
